First off, there is probably a newer version than what is on your CD that you will probably get prompted to install anyway, so you could check for that first. Aside from that, try setting the compatibility of the installer file on the CD to Vista or Win 7. This should be named something like Setup or SetupX I have a copy of Nero 8 and 10, but not 9 to check.

I do know that 9 uses a bit of a different type of installer that turned out to be a flop, so it was changed in I was able to get Nero 10 to work on Win 8 by changing some compatibility settings, so I would think it possible with Nero 9 also I just found this upgrade offer from Nero Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.
